Arts Council Lake Erie West

The Arts Council Lake Erie West, also known as Common Space or ACLEW, is a regional not-for-profit community arts agency serving communities of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan known as Lake Erie West. This grass roots agency was created by artists, educators and business persons in 1983 for the purpose of "growing the arts" in Lake Erie West. The organization provides space for artists to do their work and for the community to learn about and participate in the arts.

Children's Theatre Workshop

CTW offers a number of special programs in live theater for Toledo and area youth from 5 to 18 years old. The program teaches theatrical techniques through an informal, classroom-based structure, and promotes self-expression and teamwork. Classes are structured based on the age of the child, rather than experience level or ability. The Children's Theatre Workshop programs are divided into two basic sections: The Main Company, which everyone starts out in, and The Teen Company, which is for people who have previous theatre experience.

Collingwood Arts Center

Providing the people and arts community of greater Toledo a unique space wherein creativity, diversity and artistic expression is fostered and nourished is the primary mission of the Collingwood Arts Center. This mission is accomplished through the Center's four umbrella programs: Artists in Residence Program; Lois M. Nelson Theatre Program; Education Program; and CAC Outreach.

Franciscan Center

The Franciscan Center is a beautiful, full-service, state-of-the-art theater and conference center located on the Franciscan Campus in Sylvania, Ohio. It features a full service theater, which seats 850 people, and two smaller conference rooms. In addition, there is also a gymnasium and a beautiful Commons area which can be rented out for dinners, banquets, wedding receptions, and other special events. In addition to facility rental, the Center also provides services and amenities to help make your event a success. Located in scenic Sylvania, it enjoys an ambiance and tranquility unlike any other.

Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center

The Mission of the SQACC is to nurture and enhance the creative abilities of all people through an emphasis on Latina and Latino art and culture. The Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center serves as an oasis for neighborhood residents and local artists.

Stranahan Theater

Built in the early 1970s, The Stranahan Theater is a 2,422-seat concert hall. The foyer is 3,000 square feet and the adjacent Great Hall has 10,000 square feet of space. Although used primarily as a concert venue, the Stranahan is also host to a number of Broadway and family shows each year. In addition, the Great Hall can be rented out for wedding receptions, exhibitions, trade shows, or company parties.

Toledo Botanical Gardens

A fixture in the Toledo community since the mid-1960s, the Toledo Botanical Garden is not only a center for horticulture and the arts, but it is also the only botanical garden in the region. With the exception of a few special events, admission is free, and estimates are that more than 120,000 people visit the TBG annually. In addition, the Garden is home to nineteen independent art and horticulture groups that focus on a variety of interest related to gardening, the arts, and nature. Also, the TBG has an outreach program called Toledo GROWs (Gardens Revitalize Our World), which strives to educate people of all ages and ethnicities about how to grow fresh fruits, flowers, and vegetables in order to improve their neighborhoods and build stronger communities.

Toledo Museum

A vital part of the Toledo community for well over a century, the Toledo Museum of Art is one of the most respected art museums in America today. Founded in 1901 by businessman Edward Libbey, the museum is known for having one of the world's finest collections of glass. Today, the museum continues to expand both its various collections and relations with the Toledo community. The Center for the Visual Arts is the home of the Art Department of the University of Toledo. Students become fully immersed in the world of art through interaction with both their professors and the museum's employees. In addition to the university's classes, there are also individual art classes for children and adults who are interested in learning more about the craft.

Toledo Repertoire Theatre

Founded in 1933 by theatre activist Fred Emmett, The Rep is Toledo's oldest community theatre group. Initially the organization was a membership-only theatre group, but by the early 1960s, productions were opened to the general public. Today, the Toledo Rep continues its tradition of quality presentations with a diverse lineup of comedies, dramas and thrillers each season.

Valentine Theatre

The Toledo Cultural Arts Center, a non profit organization, produces and provides cultural and performing arts experiences for diverse audiences of all ages, to enhance the quality of the cultural and economic life of the City of Toledo, Lucas County, Northwestern Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

The Valentine Theatre is a 108-year-old 901-seat facility operated by the Toledo Cultural Arts Center, Inc. After a 21-year effort by the Board of Trustees and the community, the $28 million renovation was unveiled on October 9, 1999. Since the Gala re-opening, more than 400,000 people have attended 400 international, national and area presentations. In our five and a half years of operation, the theatre has been used by more than 32 community groups including the Toledo Symphony, Toledo Opera, Toledo Ballet, Toledo Jazz Society, Masterworks Chorale, University of Toledo, Central Catholic High School and St. John's High School.

Valentine Theatre

The Valentine Theatre is a 108 year-old 901-seat facility operated by the Toledo Cultural Arts Center, a non-profit organization that produces and provides cultural and performing arts experiences for the people of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Throughout its history, the Valentine has brought a diverse array of cultural attractions to the area. Performers have included The Boys Choir of Harlem and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, as well as performances of classic Broadway shows such as Grease, Cabaret and Ain't Misbehavin'.
