Attend our Signature Events

The Arts Commission hosts two signature fundraising events annually, which offer arts patrons the opportunity to socialize with other arts lovers, support the arts, and, yes, enjoy the great hospitality for which The Arts Commission’s parties have become known.  It’s in our official strategic plan—“fun is everywhere and a by-product of what we do.”  We pride ourselves on being an engaging and enthusiastic organization, and nowhere is that more evident than the fundraising events that our volunteers create to support our services.

Proceeds of these events support The Arts Commission’s more than 50-year tradition of developing and promoting the arts in the greater Toledo community through programs such as Young Artists at Work, the Parkwood Gallery, Artomatic 419!, Gallery Loop, the Art Walk series, Soundtrek, and the Congressional Exhibition, all of which benefit our local artists.

If you have attended our signature events, you know that they represent the best in arts and entertainment our community has to offer.  If you are new to The Arts Commission's signature events, then please join us for the fun.  You won’t regret it!

The Mix

The Mix has been called "Toledo’s best party."  Every March a team of committed volunteers takes on The Mix theme, and imagines a new way to convey excitement, fun, creativity and entertainment to our community.  The event typically involves multiple bands, interactive activities, fine cuisine to reflect the event theme, and a silent auction of art work by local artists, all happening in locations specifically chosen to draw attention to Toledo’s underutilized spaces, and the artists who have chosen to build their careers in Downtown Toledo.

Hot Glass

Hot Glass occurs in November in even-numbered years.  This auction event draws together submissions from local, national, and international glass artists, for a four-week exhibition, followed by a gala auction event.  Hot Glass 2012 provided over $95,000 in payments to glass artists, and raising $60,000 to support the programs and services of The Arts Commission.

The Art of Fine Living

The Art of Fine Living occurs in November in odd-numbered years.  The live and silent auction draws together a collection of more than 100 auction items, all featuring the best our community has to offer in terms of fine dining, travel, recreation, art, and entertainment.  Celebrity chefs create taste treats that keep the crowds coming back again and again.  The Art of Fine Living raises over $80,000 to support The Arts Commission's programs and services. (Please note, The Art of Fine Living will take a break in 2013. Please check back for updates)
