Toledo’s arts community needs outspoken advocates to step up and speak loudly on behalf of the arts.

Food for Thought will have a table set up in front of The Art Supply Depo the second Tuesday of June, July, August, and September from 6pm to 8:30pm. Artists are being asked to stop by the table and show off their talent. Bags and some art supplies will be provided. Bags will be displayed to showcase the undoubtedly amazing pieces that will be created throughout the summer. In addition, these bags will eventually contain lunch for an unhoused member of the Toledo community.
Participants may decorate as many bags as they would like, as Food for Thought's goal is to have 18,200 bags decorated for the year. Meeting this goal will allow each lunch distributed during a Saturday Morning Picnic to be its own work of art! If you are unable to make it out to an Art Walk this summer, bags can be picked up and dropped off during the Art Supply Depo's regular business hours.

The UpTown Association is continuing its search for artists looking to sell their wares and food vendors looking for hungry bellies. We are asking vendors to participate in the Art Walks occurring the second Thursday of each month this summer from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. There will be live street performers, interactive art stations, pedi-cabs for transportation and guaranteed great weather! ARTISTS CAN NOW SET UP A SALES TABLE AT NO CHARGE!! To encourage more participation and to flood Adams Street with artists and crafters, the organizing committee has decided to waive all fees for art vendors. In addition, food vendors can set-up for a very small fee! Applications are available at www.uptowntoledo.org. Click on the link under UPDATES, print the application and send it in to the UpTown Association Office. Or you can email the application to

Flint Public Art Project seeks proposals for temporary installations incorporating two, 65-feet-tall concrete silos at Spring Grove, a restored wetlands and open space near downtown Flint. Two artists will receive up to $3,500 each for their projects, which will be installed August 1 and September 5.
These installations will be part of Spring Grove Nights, a new summer program featuring music, dance, and theater performances as well the silo projects. These events will help residents and visitors re-imagine the site, establishing a public space unlike any other in the city and informing a long-range community plan to re-use the silos.
Submit a proposal by Wednesday, June 26. More information at: http://flintpublicartproject.com/spring-grove
