Come get your holiday season kicked off right with the BEST Rock and Roll Christmas Show in town at the 5th Annual Jingle Balls concert!!

Jingle Balls is a rock band comprised almost exclusively of members of the local bar and bench, as well as court and clerk employees and others. Past and current members include the following musical all-stars: past Toledo Bar Association Presidents Jim Yavorcik and Marty Mohler; Domestic Relations Magistrate Mike Kirby; Probate Magistrate Paul Jomantas; Clerk of Court

employees Lenny Tomanski, Elaine Hunter, Vary Gist, and Veronica McCord; Toledo Municipal Court Presiding Judge Mike Goulding; Lucas County Assistant Prosecutor Chas McDonald; Lucas County Public Defenders Scott Schwab, Nicole Khoury, and Denny Sawan; Assistant City Prosecutor Joe Howe; Civil Bailiff Jim Roman; law clerk Justin Rasch; esteemed attorneys John Rozic, Jim Anderson, Larry Gold, Tom Puffenberger, John Potts, and many more. We also remember two recently-deceased members of our band: Lucas County Public Defender Neil Light and attorney Tom Overley. They will be with us in spirit this year as we celebrate Jingle Balls's 5th anniversary.

Admission is $5 at the door. This year, the beneficiaries are:

The Josh Project - this organization, founded by Toledo Municipal Court Assignment Clerk Wanda Butts, endeavors to provide swim lessons and water safety instruction to inner-city youth. Ms. Butts founded The Josh Project in honor of her son, Josh, who tragically died in August, 2006. The Josh Project is a finalist in CNN's Hero of the Year award. More information can be found at www.joshproject.org.

The Moses Fleetwood Walker Society, named after the first African American professional baseball player, provides inner-city youth with baseball supplies and events to foster youth baseball programs. Moses Fleetwood Walker was an American baseball player, inventor, and author. He is credited with being the first African American to play major league baseball. Walker played one season as the catcher of the Toledo Blue Stockings in 1884. Attorneys Peter Wagner and Rich Hasbrook have been instrumental in organizing the society's annual charity events for over a decade.

The Neil Light Scholarship - named in honor of the late Neil Light, this fund provides an annual scholarship to a worthy law student intern working for the Lucas County Public Defender's office. Neil served as a mentor for decades to students serving internships, and went out of his way to help law students and new attorneys learn the ropes at Toledo Municipal Court. Neil was a gifted musician who played with the local band The Kirbys, and was in Jingle Balls's founding lineup. He died of cancer in 2011, and was honored by the Toledo Junior Bar Association as recipient of both the Order of the Heel and Order of the Sole awards at the bar association's annual Gridiron show.

Jingle Balls is a great time to celebrate the holidays with friends and colleagues while supporting some of Toledo’s finest charities. Hope to see everyone there!
