Don't want to wait for Art Walks? Check out The Gallery Loop on Saturday, April 19!
Thursday Art Walks are a great opportunity to browse and purchase affordable local art, while getting to know the artists and galleries of the Arts Zone, the Warehouse District, UpTown, and surrounding Downtown neighborhoods. The Art Walk series, presented by The Arts Commission in partnership with the artists, galleries, businesses, and arts enthusiasts of Downtown Toledo, features nearly 30 arts-related venues opening their doors to hundreds of community members who attend the event each month.
Art Walks are free to attend and open to the public. There is no official starting point for Art Walks, guests are invited to come Downtown, download a map in advance or pick one up at a participating venue, and then walk, bike, or drive to explore the wealth of creativity and great local businesses that make Toledo a vibrant arts center.
Maps and information about participating venues, artists, and exhibitions will be available online on this page in advance of each event.
About the Thursday Art Walk Program:
The Thursday Art Walk is a program organized as collaboration with the artists and businesses of the Downtown Toledo area through the The Arts Commission's Live Work Create Toledo initiative, which drives cultural tourism in Toledo and fosters economic development and revitalization through the arts. The Art Walk program began in 2007 to highlight, promote, and elevate existing arts studios, galleries, and supporting local businesses in the Downtown area. The Art Walk program has grown significantly in a short time, with the first Art Walk in May 2007 featuring just a few venues and an attendance of about 50 guests to regularly featuring nearly 30 venues in several neighborhoods surrounding Downtown Toledo with an attendance of several hundred guests each month, as well as live street performers, street vendors, and musicians.
