Recognizing the immediate need for support to local artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, The Arts Commission re-allocated $10,000 towards a new grant program for artists whose performances, exhibitions, and events have been cancelled due to this crisis.

Within 24 hours, requests exceeded the original funding amount of $10,000. The Arts Commission successfully fundraised for a second round. The application will be available on this page beginning April 9 at 9 a.m. EST.

Emergency Grants for Artists are first-come, first-served for eligible applications, with no set deadline. Grant amounts are available at $500, $250, and $100.

The applicant’s level of explanation and/or documentation of loss may be a determining factor in whether or not the application is funded, or in the level of funding. Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of artistic practice as well as clear documentation of previously scheduled events or performances that have been cancelled due to the current pandemic.

Full eligibility guidelines are available below.
