About David Ross
David Ross a community artist transformed to Creative Advocate for Youth and Community. He is a Young Artist Alumni, where he developed his passion for leadership and creative process. In 2016 under the Administration of Paula hicks Hudson he served as a creative consultant for the former Youth Commission. He works with the Toledo Arts Commission as A creative placemaking project coordinator from 2018 till the present. As a visual Artist/project coordinator he leads projects that bring awareness to social issues within the community such as Youth against Crime Mural, Art and health mural, and bringing light to Jazz legend Art Tatum, John Hendricks and Mari Evans. Coordinated projects in response to violence such as De-De Porter mura/ Demia Ezell mural. Coordinated environmental justice projects such as Equity Mural and Junction 419 mural water is life and (mental health advocacy)The smiley mural in response to the rise in suicides in the black community. He as an advocate of community services Engage Toledo Ambassador, Community police response task force, Police community relations committee, Frederick Douglass Center Board member and vice president of the Junction Coalition. Former Chair of HRC Stop the Violence Committee, TREIC Social Justice co-chair and currently Co-Chair of Coordinated Crisis Response team for Mayor office neighborhood and engagements initiative. Trained as a Restorative Justice practitioner, NOVA National Community Crisis Response Team Training, Mental Health First Aid Training, and Rewire by Roca cognitive behavior theory. His Dedication to leadership in the field of youth, Mental health, Environmental, and Social justice is a testament to the creative process and its positive effects on the ecosystem of community organizations.
